title : Dream Team Challenge 2012

9th March 2012 - Know The Edge team has just organized another mind-blowing event called "Dream Team Challenge 2012" where 5 groups of students battle against each other to bring forth their team to sweet victory. It was intense how they showcased their talents in their field of specialty which are in the Kitchen, behind the Bar, and in Service. All 5 chefs from each group had a fantastic opportunity where they were assigned each to one YTL property for 3 days just so they could be trained by experienced chefs in the industry; properties they each student was sent to was Pangkor Laut Resort, Tanjung Jara Resort, The Ritz-Carlton KL, JW Marriott KLVistana KL. Other team members on the other hand, gained knowledge when they had to create their very own menu, trigger their creativity when they had to design their table layout, know their ingredient costing & service sequence. Each member of the respective team had to work together on creating the most outstanding yet refined experience for their guests. They squeezed their brains on how they could be different from what you can get anywhere else and performed at their level best when it was showtime where they were evaluated by 4 judges including a guest judge; Chef Priya Manon, judge of MasterChef Malaysia. It was a tough battle as everyone went all out and even the judges had a tough time deciding which team deserves the medal. In the end, all their hard work paid off as they got to see the result of the sweat and blood they had put into this event. A marvelous showdown indeed.

title : 2012 Roaring Dragon
The year of the Dragon is here and Know The Edge Team, yet again has organized another successful event as they do every year! This particular year it was full of red packets, joy and fun! They kicked start the event by having a performance where they all told a story through a play. It was about a lonely grandmother who tried her best in different ways to be closer to her grandchildren and wanted only to spend quality time with her family for Chinese New Year, but all her children was too busy and neglected her... so she learned to use the iPad (In this story it was called "Pad Pad") just to communicate with her children through technology.

After their wonderful drama, they topped it up with a Chinese New Year dance performance where the audience danced together with them. There was many activities and games planned that evening and everyone got to enjoy themselves with one another. Towards the end, everyone got a bite of the traditional "yee sang", wasn't a good idea though because the room looked like it went through world war 3 after that. :)
Happy Chinese New Year everyone!

11th January 2011 / The Ritz-Carlton, KL - This date marks the day that melted the hearts of the graduating students of YTL-International College of Hotel Management #batch 09's. It was an astounding night for everything went according to plan, from the lighting's to the food to the flow of the entire event. All our graduates came looking nothing less than stunning with their elegant dresses for the ladies and classy black suits for the men. This graduation was organized by Dip 1/10 with only the assistance of a few students from Dip 1/11 and Dip 3/11. Tasks & duties were delegated to everyone to ensure that evenly work was assigned to each person. Everyone was separated into 3 departments which were Operations, Human Resources, and Finance

Challenges were met eventually but nothing that could stop them from doing what they had to do! The show had to go on but nevertheless everything turned out just perfect. The graduated were even given rooms in The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur just so that they could freshen up and prepare themselves for the night of their pride and joy. The crowd then started to come in and as the parents were served drinks at the bar, the graduates were taking memorable pictures as it could be the last time they would see their classmates before they went their separate ways. After that, the graduates were given door gifts by the committee members as a sign of congratulations for their achievements and good luck on their future undertakings. Then, it was showtime, the doors were opened and the crowd proceed inside being seated, followed by the VIPs' which was Dato' Mark Yeoh, Tan Sri Prof Emeritus Dato Dr. Abu Hassan Othman, Mr. Gerald Lipman, Mr. Carl Kono, and Mr. Justin Lee.

After everyone has settled down, the graduates marched in and took their seats where the VIP's were invited on stage to give a heartfelt speech. Moving on, was when the graduates were called by their names, one by one, they stood up and walked up on stage with full confidence and pride to receive their certificates. When the ceremony ended, representatives from each class; which were Syeqa from 1/09, Issac from 2/09, Vincent from 3/09 and Syaz from Adv.Diploma gave a touching speech which softened their hearts, making the others tear and holding one another. The graduates also prepared a performance for everyone where together, they sang "You raised me up", "Time of my life" & "Do I make you proud". Finally, when everything had ended, group photos were taken and food was served! Everyone stuffed themselves with simple, yet delicious food.

A benchmark was set that night.

title : YTL-ICHM @ nature 2011

YTL-ICHM@nature, the biggest event in the history of the college has ended. This is the first ever stay-in event where students came together to enjoy themselves and interact with one another, sharing their life stories, their experiences, pouring out their emotions and so much more for 2 nights. 46 students & a lecturer came to the camp leaving reality behind, putting aside their burdens of life and all their worries for one reason and one reason only; to be a part of this little family we have built in the 2 nights. It was truly enjoyable moments for everyone had accepted one another into their comfort zones, sharing their space & belongings, giving everything they had to make each other feel at home. We picked each other up when another fell, we held hands when it was dark, we cuddled when it was cold, we laughed to jokes, we cried to sorrows, we sang with one voice, we lived as
One Family
