“A sensational Rendezvous at ShangHai night” was a spectacular event held at Ritz Carlton KL (CCC hall) on 11th September 2011 in celebration of their 12th year anniversary of ShangHai restaurant. Among the important VIP’s that attended were Tan Sri & Pn Sri Yeoh Tiong Lay and the General Manager of both JW Marriot and Ritz Carlton (KL) Mr. Mahmoud Skaf & Mr. Steve Cokkinas. The event started-off with a relaxed atmosphere where people could socialize, eat and drink while listening to jazzy music. Basically, it was a night of food, drinks, live music and most importantly fun! This event was hosted by our very own local 8tv host Owen Yap, performances by a local star performer Ms. Ydi, followed by a fashion show by ShangHai Tang featuring their autumn and winter collection.
The amazing part was 34 YTL-ICHM students got the amazing opportunity to serve at this prestige’s event!! It was a 5 star fine dining experience featuring 6 uniquely crafted meals; our students were trained to serve according to the silver service techniques complete with wine pouring sequence. It was a huge experience for many of them, both mentally and physically as they learned to appreciate the refined methods of table service and the importance of serving both guest and food with uttermost respect while maintaining good posture and elegance. Regardless the small amount of practice they had, all of our students did a fantastic job!! The event was a total success with zero mistakes made and the night ended with guests exuberant smiles reminding them how great and memorable everything was.
